It's been a while since I've seen a goals post in the micros. Supposedly when you make your goals public you are more likely to reach them. At the very least, it might be interesting to look back on this thread in a few months and see what kind of progress we've all made. I'll go first.

- Post exactly 1 hand / week. Reply to every unique comment in the ensuing thread.

- Reply to at least 20 hands / week. Don't just say, "I'd play it the same."

- Read the ML and SS digest every week.

- Play an average of 5 hours / week. 2 table until I get a new computer. Then 4 table.

- Sign up someplace other than party. Get rakeback. (suggestions anyone?)

- Don't worry about results. Stay at 1/2 until I have built my overly conservative 2/4 roll. Bonus money / rackeback does not count towards my roll. (If I continue to run as I am now, this should happen in ~2 months)

Modest goals I know, but I don't really have the time for poker that some of you seem to be able to scrape together. Your turn.

Total purchasing power parity of the world as of 2004: $55,500,000,000,000

My bankroll: $400

It'll take a month or two. Three if I hit a downswing.

I have 25% RB at empire and eurobet, but I have heard upwards of 33% at eurobet.

wasn't there a post around here before where people listed their goals?

my 2 goals right now (i can't handle a lot /images/graemlins/grin.gif)
- i've recently moved up to $1/2 stakes, so get ~10k hands at full ring (ensuing goal 10k hands @ $1/2 6-max)

- finally clear the UB initial deposit bonus (ensuing goal to signup for another site- probably Absolute).

My goals are:

To finish my first 10k hands at .5/1 full, playing the best I can. In this period, I want to try and loosen up more and see if playing some more marginal hands works for me (I am at around 18/9, want to be 21/11 ish...)

Get in 10k at 6 max .5/1 as well. I've read loads about how much it helps people's games, and I really want to get into this. Until now, its seemed pretty intimidating, but I think I'm just going to have to sit down and learn it.

A bit irrelevant to this forum, but I also want to get better at O8. I want to play 10k hands, and (hopefully) buy PT Omaha with the winnings from it. I have Ray Zee's book, and I have about 1k hands at PP .5/1 which is easily crushable, but I want to be more comfortable playing it. I also want to start posting on the O8 forums. Same with Stud Hi Lo - I dabble in it, and want to be good.

Lastly, after all this, I wanna have a crack at PP 1/2. I know it's quite a jump, but I'm gonna have to do it at some point.

One question to people like @bsolute. I suspect you have a bankroll far ahead of what is needed for 1/2, probably even 2/4 as well. How important do you think it is to keep going up in stakes regularly? I ask because my BR is big enough for 2/4 after some nice whoring, but I am just getting to grips with .5/1. Would you recommend staying there until moving up comes naturally, or pushing myself to take shot?

Hi DrunkHamster,

My policy is to track my winning separate from my bonus whoring. By the time you double your bankroll with winning, you should feel pretty comfortable at that level. I am currently struggling at 1/2. My previous policy was to move up when I have the necessary 300BB for the next level (only count winnings). For 1/2, I believe it is important for me to play at least 10k hands as well. So I will now wait until I have the roll, and also have some real experience under my belt.

The other nice thing about separately tracking bonuses, is when you have enough, you can feel comfortable removing it to buy cool stuff or go to the casino, because it's not really part of your BR. As long as there is enough to buy in for the reload bonus, the rest is just free money /images/graemlins/smile.gif
