How does one volunteer and what should one expect? Can anyone share their experiences?

Thanks

it depends on what you want to do. for example, i do legal volunteer work. this involved contacting a local legal volunteer organization, and filling out a form giving them my contact/availability information, and what i'm willing to do.

just call some non-profit/charity/etc. organizations in your area that you'd like to volunteer with, tell them you're interested, and i'm sure they'll find a place for you.

I can highly recommend being a volunteer counselor at MDA Camp. Despite having to wipe disabled kids' asses, it was highly rewarding. I made a number of good friends both with kids and hot female counsleors...different kind of friends of course.

Thanks for the comments so far. I'm not really sure what sort of charity/volunteer work i'd like to do. Is there a web site that i could visit detailing whats on offer?
