View Full Version : Need some help with late game play

Often I end up shortstacked with 4 or 5 ppl left and I find that that's my weakest game I think. How often should I be stealing blinds with a hand like K7o when I have around 750 and BB is 150?

Also here is a HH from a situation that I am not sure was played right. It's almost exactly a coinflip, but I'm interested in your thoughts. I can't get the converter to do all ins correctly for some reason. Thanks.

Sorry, but this call is terrible. If you want to accumulate chips late game, the way to do it by raising, NOT calling. Especially not by calling off your stack on the bubble in a situation where you are HOPING to be a coinflip.

Just to give you an idea of how bad this is: if you saw the button push all-in without even looking at his cards, you would have lost about $1.27 of equity by making this call. It gets really bad when the button actually looks at his cards and folds sometimes.

Thanks for the input. If I fold then I'd have about 605 after the being SB. What kinda of hands should I be all in with on the button then?

Well, next hand you'll have 680 chips total in the SB. The big stack will be UTG, and if he folds along with the button (who seems to be playing for 3rd by his comments in the HH), then you should push any two cards you get.

From the button, you probably want to be a lot more selective, especially since it will be the big stack's blind you are trying to steal. Something along the lines of any pair, any ace, any two broadways is probably correct.
