trying limit out

Well, after hitting somewhat of a brick wall in NL, I want to try out Limit for a while...not giving up on NL, just taking a break. I know a lot of people do it the other way around (start with limit, switch to nl), but I just happened to learn nl first.

So anyway...What are the major differences in limit?

It's all math, learn your odds. Play tight and bluff less often than you might in NL. You can't push people off of hands, especially at micro-limits.

Well one of the biggest differences is that you can't bet as much. j/k. The swings are worse in limit because it is more difficult to effectively protect your vulnerable hands. Variance is higher in limit and more people play junky hands. IMO it can be more frustrating than NL because of these reasons.

In nearly all cases you will have to play more hands, play them more aggro PF/postflop, and push almost any edge you have at any given time, except in the cases where you are vulnurable and need to protect your hand.
