Nah, I don't think so. Your turn bet looks as much like a slow'd "4" as anything else. Perhaps he picked up the flush draw, or defiantly called you down w/ two overs. I think for you to continue on the river - while risky on the surface, was paramount in you taking this down.

I don't think I would have bet 175 on the river. Unless the 8 on the river paired him, you very likely have the best hand. He isn't laying down an 8, so I would either check/call against an agressive player or bet something like 100-125 against a loose player who might pay me off with overs. He's played the hand like a loose-passive so far so I would lean towards the 100 bet if I had no other info.
