Here is an example of how I play AKs when it misses.

<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Button calls, SB calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: (9 SB) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 2/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 folds, Button calls, SB folds.

Turn: (5.50 BB) Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

I was wondering about my check on the turn. Mabye another bet here is a better move?

Only bet the turn if you think there's a decent chance he'll fold to it. Heads up I'd probably fire again unless I knew he was a very loose calling station type, but that's the last money I'm putting in.

I'd be more willing to bet if he was a loose calling station since we probably have the best hand.

I would bet the turn.

If there were more than two opponents I would have to put someone on duce, seven or pp.

But against one opponent I would keep the presure on. If I'm raised I'm out.

You are getting 5.5 to 1 on a semibluff to a pair that probably would hold up. remember that if the board two-pair an ace may win or tie so a 7 or Q could cut your losses if the bluff fail.

If I got called and dont hit anything on the river I probably just check/fold the river. Since there is no real draws here you got to give the caller credit for something but a fold would depend on my read.

That's a good point.

I don't like that last sentence. Queens are dirty outs here IMO. Am I wrong for thinking so?

No, but I think there's value in betting.

No you are right a Q would be terrible. The board pair have to be higher to be of any value and if it were higher the risk of trip would be higher.

If you allow I take that sentence back.

I still bet the turn though.

I'm usually firing again at the turn heads-up. The river is a much dicier decision, I'm generally not betting, but I'm not sure if a call would be in order. That's read-dependent to me.
