I am going to be buying a 2001fp in the near future, and right now it is $560 at Dell and I have a $75 coupon so with taxes and stuff it should come to a little over $500 total. I know that they were going for $450 about a month ago, so I am wondering how often they drop the prices that low? I want to buy one now but if they are going to be selling for less than $450 in a month or so I will wait. Is there anyway to know if they will be lowering the price in the near future, thanks.

check ebay, and buy from a professional seller with 99.9% positive feedback. 420 seems to be the going rate, the monitors are still in their dell packaging with warranties, and shipping is like 70.

So $490 from someone random or "little over $500" from dell

HMMMMMMMMM, let me think about that one.

I hear there are some coupons for $1 vons brand cereal in the sunday paper, if you're intersted..

I've gone the someone random route twice on ebay, both were fantastic sellers. If you camp on ebay long enough, you're bound to get it for $475 shipped, which is way better than any price I've seen on dell.com (I think I've seen it for around $530, with the coupon).

Weigh your options.

I paid $460 for mine on Dell.com and I know there have been better deals there since. I'll be ordering my 2nd one the next time they are around $450 or lower on Dell.com. I'm in no rush, so I don't need to go the eBay route, although I am sure there isn't much to worry about if you find a respectable seller.

I never seemed to have good timing with these. Nice deals though.

Is there any educated guess as to when they will go on sale again. End of the quarter(is that December?) etc? Thanks

There hasn't been a sale in nearly a month, so its likely that one is on the way relatively soon.

what is the best way to find the deals? Will it just appear at dell.com or do I have to look on sites such as slickdeals.net and gottadeal.com? The price at dell.com is $561 which is 40% off the list price ( i think) but obviosly it gets well below that. thanks again

This forum is a good place to check, as well as fatwallet.com and the other deal sites for coupon codes. Whenever deals on the good dell monitors pop up they are generally very well advertised.

what do you guys think about buying one for 400, from someone who has used it for under 2 months? does that sound like a decent deal? or should i try to ask him for less since its been used?

Matty

Ask for 300. Show him the brand new ones you can get on ebay for 400.

I bought one from Dell last week. Stacked two coupons for a net price of $501 with free shipping.

I'm at work, so I don't have my notes available. But I think the coupon I used is still valid for a couple of days.

Try to Google for Dell monitor coupon stack. That's how I found it.

true. I cannot find it on their site. Found other monitors but not the 2001fp. Is it sold out? when did you get yours?

I just picked up one for a grand total of $460 off ebay. Never been opened, not refurbished, seller had ~500 feedback at 99.5%. Cant wait to get it. To get one at that price you have to watch the most recently added ones because they go quick (this guy sold several in only a few hours) the ones nearing the end of their auction are priced higher (over $500 total)

I bought one for $460 on an ebay auction from them. They have ~500 feedback at 99.5% possitive. The auction said it only comes with a one year warranty, which is the only thing I found odd at all since Dell's is three years right?

why on earth would anyone deal with eBay hassles/worries to save a measly $20 on a $500 monitor. just wait for the coupons that comeout bi-weekly and get it direct from dell.

There are deals on ebay from 99%+ sellers with the full Dell warantee for cheaper than Dell.com. I just saw a 'Buy it Now' for $430 plus 60 shipping with the full Dell warantee, and that's a bit on the pricey side for ebay.

You can get it on dell.com right now for $501 w/ free shipping. Again, why use ebay to save $20 to $30?

So pretty much, people think it might go on sale for $50 cheaper within a month? How likely is this? This greatly affects how I'm going to proceed with this kind of purchase...

[/ QUOTE ]1) You don't have to wait for coupons to come out

2) You don't have to spend time looking for coupons

3) Many sellers are as trustworthy as dell itself

4) Faster shipping

5) Costs less

Any reasons why you choose dell over a professional ebay seller?
