Foxx does an amazing job in it, sounds like it's a sample of Ray himself.

Isn't it an actual sample of Ray Charles? Would they be able to get around paying for the rights by having Foxx sing it? Also, I know Foxx sings the intro, but I thought it was a Ray Charles sample.

I believe it is Foxx's voice in the sample. I don't yet own the CD, so I can't confirm this is the case.
