What could I have done differently. Should I lay this down to the check raise on the flop. I really felt like I had the best hand. Should I just have pushed the flop?

Make your continuation bet a little less on the flop, say t300, though t400 is ok. How come you can't get away from this after the c/r if you think you're beat? Or you don't think you're beat? I don't get the post title.

I bet villian has A5, this thread reeks of "bad beat".

Favorite pre-flop or not you should find a way to get away from this. Pick a better spot.

Its not a bad beat post. I wanted to know if I was wrong for getting to the showdown even though I had him when I got the money in. I couldnt believe it when he turned over his hand. I honestly thought hed fold even though he was pot committed.

In the 5.5s, fold equity only exists when you're the first one pushing. Most players at this level spite-call when you push over their minraise.

i think this was terribly played on your part. in these levels you should know that they are not folding any pair hit or any draws. although this board sucks, i would put him on some kind of pockets and just check/fold my AK on flop. if this was 22's or higher i might play differently but in these levels you have to play less agressive. you will always have to assume that they are not folding. if you dont assume this then start assuming it now. remember you have to adapt to the different kind of players. i would call the preflop bet and check/fold the flop. i will keep my agressive play to steal blinds when it gets big. peace.
