I think I do this too often. Villain represents a better hand on the turn, but I bet the river and call a raise in case he was overplaying something worse.

Thoughts? Should this river be a check/call?

I play it the same, I think, especially since there's a 4 straight on the turn. But I could be wrong, since I think I spew too much too.

If you think your hand is good enough to cap the turn then it's also good enough to bet the river "blank". If he is passive enough that you don't think your hand is good after his 3-bet on the turn, then you shouldn't cap the turn. Just call the turn and ch/c the river then.

Seems like you're either tied or beat on the turn once he 3-bets. I call down and hope to see trips, but expect to tie or see a flush.

you misread the board we can't be tied here

he has a flush. There is no possible tie on this board.

Yep. Too many red cards...4 color decks are critical /images/graemlins/smile.gif

How about calling the turn 3-bet and bet-calling the river? That puts in 1BB less than capping and bet-calling plus it doesn't risk a set checking through the river if a fourth heart falls. Hmmm... maybe a good line for those occasions where you feel you can fold the river if he raises a fourth heart. Or am I totally off now? Always a possibility.
