Upload that image to your photobucket account.
Goto my home area here in 2+2 and look in Personal information, email, password, etc and post the URL you get from photobucket in the space for your avatar.

You may be on the beginning of the path but arbitrary avataring likely will just result in the same amount of forum incoherence. Get to know who you're designing the avatar for (whether it is one individual or many) and take your time finding ones that will not only do their body of posts/personality justice but that will make you smile when you see it in a thread.

As you said before I am going about this in a very haphazard manner. I get lucky every once in awhile but most of the time the avatar I pick could be considered an insult to the person I picked it for which is never my intention.

I am just a packrat for avatar type pics and when I saw this thread I thought I would throw some out incase others liked them and wanted to use them.

Then I decided I would make it into a psychic reading type of a thing and pick an avatar for each poster in this thread without asking them what they would like! That didn't go so good. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

So the answer is yes! I am going to try and pick an avatar for you even if you didn’t want one. Very good chance you won't like the first one I pick but I like trying. It will take some time however I have the good ones on my other pc. So check back in about 24 hrs or so. I just started learning how a few days ago. So I don't know much yet and would like to hear from anyone who knows more but I will tell you what I have found out so far.

There are many ways to make animated gifs the best method to use depends on several things.

Where you plan to get your starting video or images from.

How big the final file will be.

How many changes you will need to make to the starting images.

How good of a final product you want.

What software you have to use.

I am just starting so I am using freeware and stealing premade .gifs and modifying them. Here are a few links for you to try.
