Why are anti-war protesters so quick to point out the bullying of the United Statesm but they give coward Saddam a pass? Most anti-war statements start with the uniform disclaimer: "Yes Saddam is bad, but......"

Oh by the way you anti-US polly-annas - where is the bully? Exactly who's tongue is cutting out today? I wonder what country (probably Syria) his wives and relatives have escaped to? Funny how his statements are to fight to the death - and he is nowhere to be found. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha..........

Notwithstanding the Iraqi leadership's cowardice, this is a great time to be an American. I for one am proud we have a leader with balls. Thank God we are not lead by a French, German, Canadian, Mexican, or Turkish, or some other sniveling, spineless liberal. God bless the USA. God bless the brave and valiant servicemen who rescued the 19 yr-old woman hostage. God bless her for fighting with every bullet, every ounce of courage, and for being alive to tell the bleeding heart Susan Sarandan-Martin Sheen crowd exactly what the horrors of the Iraqi military's complete disregard for the Geneva convention. Of course, anti-war protestors never protest that. Never protest the horrors of the Iraqi regime. Cowards all of you.

When the liberals and other able-minded people were denouncing Saddam Hussein and warning about American support to the poisonous and backward Taliban, the narrow-minded and the armchair strategists were busy mumbling cliches about "the lesser of two evils" and "my enemy's enemy".

When payback time comes, and we start sweating bullets about Islamic terrorists and about countries producing WMDs , all this is swept under the carpet and the conservative talking-heads go on overdrive to divert our attention from what they were saying only a few years ago. Pictures of Rusmfeld smiling to Saddam in cosy lounges will not be re-shown on your screen any time soon.

That Wogga post is a yet another classic in this strain of lies, half-truths, bellicosity and empty rhetoric emanting from the sewers of the American Extreme Right. Proud to be Wogga -- is all he can be.

I think your resentment of the "liberals" stems from what I consider to be cheap shots from the likes of Daschle, Byrd, and now Kerry. My favorite is codemning the administration for failed diplomacy like Daschle did. In order to have successful diplomacy all parties must bargain in good faith.

I believe that successful diplomacy depends on many factors. But as far as each side's expectations are concerned, I believe that it's more appropriate to say that In order to have successful diplomacy all parties must expect to gain something from conducting diplomacy as opposed to rejecting diplomacy. "Good faith" depends upon expectations rather than anything else.

The administration has left itself open to criticism by making such statements as "we're going to talk but not negotiate." (This was vis-a-vis N. Korea.) It's a mystery to me why anyone would listen to anything Tom Daschle and why the Dems haven't dumped him, but this doesn't mean there isn't plenty to criticize about the administration's "diplomacy."
