I thought my line looked good. The only reason I posted is because the other guy wound up turning over AA at the showdown and I lost the pot...

The difference in the 3-bet to check-raise and the 4-bet lead is nominal. I just prefer to be maximizing pre-flop with that type of hand, because your other opponents will be folding a lot after the flop. Might as well charge them the max.

Either way it works, AA was silly, never raising.

If this guy is reasonable (meaning he does this with TT-AA and AK & AQs) then you stand to make a lot more by checking and calling all the way and maybe donking the river. The way you played it just sets you up to lose more when he has AA & KK and pops your turn lead, and might fold a timid AK (who you want to continue betting.)

I'm just parroting HPFAP, but it's the right way to play these..
