After 86 hands, villains stats are 38/20/3.1 with WTSD of 25 and turn aggression of 4. This ok? I planned to call a nonspade.

Yeah. I want to 3-bet for a free showdown but I'm too worried about him capping with a worse hand so I do what you did.

I don't like 3-betting for a free showdown. It's not just that he may cap with a worse hand (which sucks as well). Seeing the river cheaply allows you to make a good fold on a bad river, saving a bet. There's also the possibility (though small) that he'll stop and go the river with a worse hand. Also, the drawing hands that he's semibluffing on the turn are going to put another bet in on the river anyway.

Of course, 3-betting for a free showdown allows him to a) fold a 6-outer and b) fold a higher pair, but he rarely has a) and letting him see the river isn't exactly horrendous, and he very rarely has b) without a /images/graemlins/spade.gif AND folds it.
