i really like rock n roll country music that involves harmonica's and has that blues style to it.

this song (http://www.hopefulsinner.com/MP3/ASG/Redneck_Gigolo.mp3) is a good example.

what songs/bands should i listen to? what is this type of music called exactly?

It's not country but Eurythmics "There must be an Angel" has a great harmonica solo on it. Check it out.

If you like Tom Petty and harmonica, grab every song you can by Blue Rodeo.

A legendary Canadian band who have a rock-a-billy soul.

Outstanding musicians as well.

I feel like somebody should mention Blues Traveler, even though I don't like them, his harmonica work is pretty darn good.

the best actually... and although the genre is not my favorite, they are one of the best live bands I have ever seen.

For the ultimate in harmonica - get the best of WAR. They used a harmonica within their horn section. Just think of songs like low rider, Cisco Kid, why can't we be friends, slipping into darkness... they blazed trails that none others have considered since.

if you have not seen Tom Petty in concert, he puts on an excellent show.

Because he has one or more of the three main attributes women go for regardless of looks. Money, power and fame.

Either rockabilly or folk rock.

Neil Young(already mentioned)
Bob Dylan(already cleverly mentioned by his real name by someone else)
Blues Traveler(already mentioned)

Go to a music store of any kind, say these three names along with Petty, then mention rockabilly(yes, I know they're not the same thing...I'm responding to OP's request for bluesy country rock)...someone will know where to lead you.
