1/2 NL (200 max) at Turning Stone casino. I don't think I played this hand optimally.

Hero(360) is UTG+2 and makes a standard open raise of $12 with 5/images/graemlins/club.gif 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Villain(200) is in late position and has only been at the table for one orbit.
Folds to villain who raises to $25, folds around to Hero who calls.

Flop(53): A/images/graemlins/heart.gif A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif
Hero checks, Villain bets 20, Hero calls.

Turn(93): 10/images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Hero bets 30, Villain calls 30.

River(153): 10/images/graemlins/club.gif
Hero checks, Villain checks.

Comments on all streets appreciated. I'll post my thoughts on the hand later.

he probably has an ace, or he has KK and doesn't think you have one. If you are going to lead the turn, at least half pot it...maybe 2/3. You could go for a checkraise, but i'm pretty sure he doesn't have an ace and i'm pretty sure he's checking the turn behind if you let him. There's no way villain had an ace here given his river check. Your river check is ok because nobody without an ace or 10 calls the river, but someone with QQ or KK might bet that river if you check it. I assume you are calling a smallish bet if he fires...what are you doing if he pushes?

I'm insta-calling any river bet. If he has something like KK or QQ, does he call a 2/3 pot bet on the turn? What do you think about leading the flop instead of check-calling? What about check-raising?

the checkraise scares off KK or QQ I think. I probably lead the turn for around halfish instead of a third.

I would bet more on the turn and probably checkraise the flop too in case he got a big ace. I like checking the river or possibly fire a small bet if you read him for KK-JJ.

forget check raising. lead the flop for a large amount you definetly want AK to get the money in with the worst of it. u raised preflop UTG for 12$ he expects either an ace or high pockets.

if he has kk he won't pay you off anyway.

Considering his hand, I dont think you were getting much more out of him unless he's bad. Maybe half pot on the turn. If he did have a big ace, you were getting all the money in on the turn, so I think your line is fine.
