With your read, the only reason I check here is because I intend to c/r. Fact that he checked it through means I would definately bet the turn.

It's funny, I find that when your villain doesn't play as you think he should/might, then he actually has a draw he doesn't want to get bet off of.

In this case, if you normally expect him to auto-bet the flop, and he doesn't, I would assume he has something like the flush draw or bottom pair. If he leads out, IMO, he generally has nothing, and will fold to heat.

Pretty much, although this isn't my favorite board for going for this kind of play. There are a lot of cards that you're not going to be happy about, since your weakness is going to get him betting into you pretty often when K's, 8's or flush cards hit, I think, and I'm guessing you're not likely to call down in those situations. So I'm probably putting some money in on the flop.
