wouldn't it probably be better to move in with a hand such as 56s instead of a hand like 1010
with either youll probably only be called by a large pair
and wouldn't you be in better shape with the 56s

Your location says "middle of nowhere" and I'm guessing thats where this question came from. How bout some details? Early/mid/late position, early/mid/late tourney, cash game preflop? MTT? STT? Chip sizes? You left out about 24 necessary details. And the answer is still no.

It is always better to go all in preflop with a worse hand than a better hand. Common sense.

AK will never call you?

If only pocket pairs bigger than T T are going to call you then yes.

For example:
AA red (81%) vs TT black(19%)
AA red (77%) vs 56 spades (33%)

but

AKo red (46%) vs TT black (54%)
AKo red (60%) vs 56 spades (40%)

well obviously ak will call you but there are 16 ways to get AK and there are 48 ways to get a pocket pair larger than tens
