And that is one hell of a band. Take King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, and Santana and put them in a blender and you get the Mars Volta.

this is a very good post. i have no idea who they are, but you explained it. i hate when people make statements about obscure pop culture stuff w/ no explaination.

I don't really hate that, I just chalk them up as an elitist [censored].

I am a big fan of "The Widow" and "L'Via L'Viaquez".

I saw them a week ago in Dallas. They had some sound issues early on, but the show was great overall. What did you think of SOAD?

I was told that they had broken up from in fighting. what's their website. did they change the lineup around a little bit and the nonfighting members get back together

SOAD was excellent, but their lack of versatility shows when you listen to them for an hour and a half straight.

Fantastic band, sounds like no other. It's great to see a pretty progressive band in the spotlight. I've got tickets to go see them again in a week (Should be a hell of a weekend, seeing Dream Theater at Gigantour the night before, and was supposed to see Howe, Squire and White at the Mohegan on thursday, but it got &*#&% cancelled...)

Will do man... Pretty psyched about it, especially Dream Theater and Symphony X.

Interesting band. I'd heard of them, but have never heard any of their music. I checked out a couple of their songs, and immediately I could tell that they are very reminiscient of older Rush. I love Rush, so I'll have to check these guys out more.
