So villain is a suspected 2+2'r and I know he knows I am a 2+2'r but I don't know if he knows that I suspect he is a 2+2'r. Anyways he recently turned up the aggression and he could be doing this with a really wide range but then again he could actually have a hand.

Blinds are 50/100

Button ($830.00)
SB ($2125.00)
BB ($2015.00)
Hero ($1780.00)
CO ($1250.00)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Hero raises to $250.00, CO raises all-in ($1250.00), Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, Hero...

fold, any good 2+2er isnt going to push this with a wide enough range that you can call with 99.

I'd have already decided whether I'd call a push, and from which stacks, before raising in the first place UTG, to be honest.

I agree and typically do. I was planning on mucking to a push from this guy however after he pushed I started thinking and this guy was shifty.

Does anybody fold pf here? You have the ideal seat position: The two short stacks are to your left so I don't think you have to worry about getting blinded into 4'th place.

I never said he was good, in fact I thought he was playing pretty poorly.

He was just playing by the standard ABC push/fold machine.

Folding preflop here is unacceptable imo and I would need quite a bit of convincing to do it.

I just think you have the best seat and should take advatage of it. You'll be able to steal more blinds than usual against the short stacks when it is folded to you with the button, and the big stacks will give you the big blind quite a bit. With your seat, the game will pretty much play itself, at least, until one of the short stacks doubles up. But if I was alert enough to realize my good fortune in a real game, I'd fold most every hand UTG and open push any playable hands on the button and SB and collect all those bb's the big stacks will fold to me. Then again, 4 tabling, and listening to new music, I probably don't realize this at game time.

Does everyone agree that Hero is very likely ahead here? that's a legitimate question, not trying to invoke thought or anything---i'm just trying to think in terms of theory. Is it +ev to avoid all gambles when you currently have the 3'rd biggest chip stack. Is it still +ev to avoid this gamble considering that CO is more likely to have a smaller pp than a bigger one and most likely just has 2 overs?
