I push, but I'm not excited about it.

yeah i mean its pretty EV neutral this hand against standard player and big stacks are cool.

Even if you're 8-tabling, you should probably have a read on UTG by now on whether he likes the mini-raise. It's very read-dependent what you do here (whether the MR means "I have a hand I'm playing," or whether alarm bells should be going off in your head).

sorry, I should have included that UTG has not miniraised yet (that I've noticed)

in my experience a mini raise in this spot tends to be "I don't want to invest much with this hand" although obviously sometimes its AA/KK.

That's tougher if you haven't noticed him mini-raise yet, because you're in a pretty good position where it's not great to put your remaining 8.7 BB on the line completely here. I don't think pushing is that bad, but I'd feel a whole lot better about it against a semi-frequent to frequent mini-raiser.

If you only had like 1400 chips (1200 remaining after the BB post), then you still have some FE to possibly win 700 chips w/o a showdown, plus you're more likely to have to get your chips in in a marginal spot if you fold, so then it'd be better to make a play on this hand (IMO at least).

Has he been raising at all? (I usually don't notice either)

I still feel comfortable enough to push against a min raiser here, but you know me and big stacks.

I pushed and he folded. I still think that its very close though.

To those who say push: would you push 55 here? (or in gramps case where you would push if one thing was different, such as having 1400 chips, would you push 55 here?)

I think its super tight...99 I'd probably repush but it might be my cutoff here
55-88 is even closer...I could probably play the hand either way given no reads
