View Full Version : Pot too big to fold?

Is there ever a point where the pot is too big to fold?

No real read on opponents. SB is 44.44/11.11 over 18 hands. Button is 72.73/0 over 17 hands.

Tough laydown. I think a fold is correct here getting like 17 or 18:2? I doubt you win this often enough to call.

Misread. I didn't realize he had called the first river bet. I thought it was 2 to him to call. I still think you lose this hand more than enough times to make a fold because you will have to fear a 3-bet some times. If I was closing action I'd probably make a bad, fish call here because of all the dumb hands I've folded the winner to in a pot like this.

You are closing the action...

Anyone know if we're good here 5%?

Folding getting 19:1 seems, on its face, pretty bad; but given button's action in the hand before the river, combined with raising both of you on the river, I think you're good here less than 5% of the time. This assumes that button is at all reasonable post-flop -- his pre-flop stats would seem to belie that, but it is a really thin statistical read and my limited anecdotal observation is that the 60+ VPIP guys love to coldcall with suited cards.
