It is important as a beginner to establish starting hand standards in all forms of poker. The fastest way to becoming a winnng player is to learn what hands you should even think about being in a pot with. The size of ante/blind should affect your starting standards as well. There are also other things that affect you starters, such as position. If you are first to act you should play more powerfull starting cards that if you are last to act (in general).


After you get done reading Ray's post a few time, go right to the directory and buy a book. Most books talk about all of these things, however Theory Of Poker has plenty of reading detailing how ante/blinds and position affect your starting hand requirments. Buy it.
