SB is a bad LAG. He moved from another table that I had seen him at. Min raise in MP w/ Q2o. Raise pre-flop w/ AQs, flop is 964 rainbow heads-up. It gets checked to the river (4 turn, river 10) where he bets $14 w/ nothing and gets called. HHWG.

I bet like $7-8 on the flop and call the river. Otherwise, you played it fine IMO.

So shouldn't you call the river?

i'd say if he'll call you on the flop with "nothing" (with a decent probability), then you definetly should call. but if he has to have a pair to call, then i would very strongly lean toward a fold.

I agree that he could have had air on the flop. That is why I feel I am a giant wanker for not betting the turn. If I bet the turn I have a pretty good idea of where I am it. This way I let him take it from me (by letting him lead the river). I agree that not calling the river was a mistake.

I strongly suggest betting the turn or (my preference) checking behind and calling any bet up to pot-sized so long as the river doesn't come with another Broadway card.

I bet $7 or $8 on the flop.

Checking turn is fine. Don't want the pot too big, plus an 8 or Q beat you.

River, I generally call this. He could be betting A high, a 2, a 9. If he has a Q or 8, congratulations to him.
