when the weather gets hot what station becomes most unbearable? 90% of the time i use the same few stations so i am not qualified to give an authoritative answer but the walkway to get to the ACE from the PATH at the WTC has been very hot of late.

non ventilated stops that are way underground are brutal. 59th street on the 4/5 comes to mind.

I think The Times does an article on this every couple of years with actual temperature readings.

lol, nawwww, SF is my air-conditioner...here is the coast...

We basically have a 30 degree variance within a 20-30 mile area...

If it's 90 inland (concord, livermore), that means it's 80 here (sunnyvale) and 65 at the coast (SF).

It's your basic run-of-the-mill paradise. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good point. Suburban mini-mall hell is better than New York.

I thought we were talking about heat/weather. No biggy, you'd lose the 'lifestyle/available activities' debate as well.

Don't forget to set your rat traps tonight before bed.

Cute. No rats on the 21st floor. Also, if you're in the Bay Area, you're in like 8th to last place. At least Sunnyvale is better than Fremont. I guess.

I'll give you that one. Fremont sucks. But it's on the way to Tahoe, so it serves it's purpose.

I wish you were right about NY though, that way maybe some of these damn east-coast transplants would leave.

The hottest of them all is the NQRW at 34th street. a good 20 degrees warmer than any other station in manhattan. its been cooler in the city this week, so they aren't nearly as hot. but last week was a different story...

I'm in this station every day. It was positively brutal the last couple of weeks. At least the A/C has been working in the subway cars, at least.

This reminds me of one time I was on the Q uptown and a huge fat guy got on at Canal. He was at least 6-2 and 320 pounds, dripping sweat, hair all matted and wet, and, of course, wearing running shorts, sneakers and no shirt and no socks. He sits down, takes his sneakers off and leisurely spreads his feet out. All the seats in the train were full.
