In hindsight I should have bet fourth, but in the past being rolled with the bring-in, I've been able to execute a check-raise. I guess their boards aren't that threatening, so they are hesistant to bet. On sixth I really didn't want to get check-raised myself. I'm either way ahead or way behind, and I felt like he was capable of check-raising with the worst hand.

Not betting 6th is incredibly weak tight. If you get C/R, so be it.

Are you calling a check-raise?

Isn't is possible I got called on 7th only because I didn't bet 6th?

I think he would have bet 4th if he had an 8 in the hole.

I've seen players C/R me in that exact situation, twice. Both times they bet the river and showed down just two pairs. So, strange things have happened, so yes I'd call him down. There's just too good a chance he's semibluffing some draw or has a bigger pair in the hole, or is just plain drunk. It might be -EV to call a C/R here but it probably isn't much. Sometimes you just have to bow to the donk factor. My experience was in stud8 of course so he'll be much more likely to have the boat in stud high.

Good point, I would think so too, but it's not definite.

I disagree very strongly.

A good opponent could very easily fold if he is playing his board.

So unless our hero puts some doubt in the other's mind he'll only get action when he's beaten badly.

P.S. I really hate not betting 4th. You are risking the pot staying too small to get action on the big streets.

But would he call 6th if he is playing his board?

I bet fourth and probably sixth as well.

As CJ would say, bet your damn hand. Recognize that on sixth you are representing kings up, not a full house. So he may well call trying to fill. Or hoping you just have kings (you were the bring in).
