10/20 game. UTG (40/20 guy) raises. 1 fold. I have 88 in the CO. Do I 3 bet or fold?
I folded, but a 2+2er who is better than me says he would raise.

I'd also raise...but my advice is tainted ATM.
99-AA is ahead of you right now.
You can pretty safely put him on A9s+ QJs+ KJo+ or 77+. Thats being pretty conservative.
Dont really know how to do the math past that point, but my guess would be 75-80% of the time you're ahead of him.
If im dumb someone tell me, but it sounds smart to me /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Edit: I realize there is some dead money in the pot, but he also caps with the hands that have me crushed. I think this is closer than it seems. Tell me if I'm crazy.

Those are hot and cold numbers, so a lot of his wins come from pairing or making a draw on the turn or river. Your flop equity is probably decently ahead of his. You also have position. This is an easy 3bet.

Don't forget how important position is in hands like these where you practically always get to play better than him on the river, especially where he'd check behind with ace-high if he had position but ends up check-calling.
