I did it. Awesome video, it's being edited right now by a dude who makes indipendent films so it's gonna be badass, but where should i post it? Is there a photobucket equivilant for video's? I need some sort of host.

It was pretty freakin awesome.

Did you make it or did you puke? I can't really see how this will be a badass video, no matter who you had edit it. Then again, what do I know?

Its as badass as a video about a dude drinking a galon of milk can be. So, its cool, but, nothing earth shattering.

I'm almost sure I could have done this when I was 17.

I am sure that you could not. Your stomach isn't big enough to hold that much liquid at once.

Sure it is. You just can't break down the milk fast enough.

Does it count if you don't throw up, but you [censored] yourself?

Been there done that. Did 1.5 gallons of 1% milk in 52 mins.

Congrats tho.

it's gotta be whole milk. That's the point of it.

This guy didn't do it:

"2. Baseball locker room dares: Milk might do a body good, but only in moderation. That was the lesson learned on Sunday by a Marlins bat boy. Dodgers pitcher Brad Penny bet the unidentified bat boy $500 that he couldn't drink a gallon of milk in less than an hour without throwing up. Several Dodgers teammates kicked in cash to raise the booty to $1,000. The batboy managed to down the beverage in time but couldn't fulfill the second half of the bargain. This is merely the latest example that baseball players have far too much free time on their hands."

Also, I want to hear from West and if anything came from his claims in this excellent thread (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3230675&page=&view=&sb=5& o=&fpart=all&vc=1).

I tried this. I somehow managed to puke the milk out my nose. It wasn't pretty.

its definitely possible to drink it. holding it down for the hour is the tough part.

There is a little tribe in africa that seriously lives on milk for a couple months out of the year while their crops are not yet fully grown. They literally drink about a galon of milk for breakfast every day.

I am not one of those people. The video will probably be done in like a month, ill post it, family hang ups and stuff.... but we still have the footage.

Not yet! For various reasons it's been a while since there's been a particular card game get together where he was intending to back this up, but there might be one within a few weeks, so I will remind him of it.

10-27-2005, 05:10 PM
This guy (http://loudermilk.org/milk/) claims to have done it, but he used skim milk (I don't know if that is allowed or not) and threw up right after the second hour was up.

The point is the fat. If it's not whole milk, you did not do it.

So 1% is possible, and whole milk is not?

10-28-2005, 11:44 PM
That guy could do it because he used a cup from Kinnick Stadium. Plus, skim milk is definitely a lot easier to do it with than whole.

West

Ok, it looks like this should happen this Friday night. My boy will do a gallon of skim in 1/2 hour, keep it down for an hour.

West

Due to circumstances beyond his control, my friend didn't make it to the card game on Friday, so the milk challenge didn't happen. I was dissapointed, but it still should happen at the next one in about a month.

Is diarrhea allowed? It seems that someone whose body gives milk the fast-track through for lack of lactase would be able to manage, though they may be on the toilet for half of it.

matt flynn and others are right: this is not the classic milk bet.

only whole milk is the officical milk bet of 1 gallon in 1 hour.

anything else is completely different. to use a dumb analogy: if someone bet you that you couldn't run a 4 minute mile, and you did it by driving an electric scooter, you didn't win the bet.

day and night people.

From what I've read the % doesn't really matter, as it's not content, but volume that makes the feat insane. It's not impossible but from everything I've seen it's like less than 2% of the population can do it given the fact that the average stomach is .5 gallons and milk breaks down at a slow enough rate that intake>output.

chuddo
11-07-2005, 02:11 PM
whole milk is the only way to go. possibly it breaks down slower?

with skim milk, you might as well take a gallon of water and put some drops of milk in there and call it "light milk".

the challenge should only be whole milk. if you think there is no difference, then it should be done in whole just to keep people like myself from whining and calling foul.

From what I've read, the pH change (difference between milk and stomach acid) is also a supsect for what induces the vomiting. To me, pointing to the fat content as the trigger sounds like a knee-jerk reaction: its got more calories, so it must be harder to hold down! I have no idea which idea is more accurate, however.

11-07-2005, 02:29 PM
If its true that intake>output because of the rate milk breaks down at, then wouldnt 4% take longer to break down than 2%?

I'd be willing to believe that. I've pounded a gallon of water in like 20 minutes, back when I was in the service, on a dare. My head was floatin after that though.

If we agreed that I can [censored] while I drink, I'll take the milk challenge, because I'm horrible lactose intolerant /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah, AFAIK, normally the bet is only about not throwing it up. So going to the bathroom doesn't lose it.

TheIrishThug

if it goes out in the direction that it normaly does, its all good.
