Closing and reopening an account

I closed my Empire Poker account about four months ago because I originally signed up without rakeback. I heard it takes either three or six months before you can open your account again. I contacted an affiliate to see if they knew anything about it and they told me that I can never sign-up again and get rakeback. Has anyone actually done this and have it work? Do I need to make sure I sign up using a code that has no sign-up bonus related to it (which I would never redeem anyway)?

There are MANY Party Poker skins, just pick one (or two) that you haven't used before, and sign up there.

I did what you want within the same week. I send a mail to Empire asking if they could close my account. After two more mails they did and one day later I opened another account with another affiliate under the same name, address, etc. That was 2 years ago though. Things did change... Goodluck anyway!
