Yeah, right, there's a greater chance of Saddam Hussein ending up winning his division than the Cubs.
Any team that fires Bobby Valentine will improve five games in the standings even if managed by Mother Teresa from the grave.

Cubs/Red Sox Series; you heard it here first. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
That would be epic. No better possible series. Cubs in 7 of course. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Not a good start for Bill James's bullpen theory today. James claims there's no sense putting in your ace when you have a 3 or more run lead in the 9th since you're going to win those games anyway. Why waste a valuable commodity?
Of course if Nomar turns the double-play like he should, the game's over.

No better possible series.
Except the Cubs and the other Sox.
What other Sox team? /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Like a true Red Sox fan, I have now switched my allegiance to the Toronto Blue Jays. Red Sox suck.
BTW, Manny makes more per season than the entire Tampa Bay starting eight. Pedro will make more in four starts than Tampa's staters for the season. Talk about class differences.

I imagine Piniella makes more than the starting eight. The Blue Jays looked particularly inept tonight, not even considering the catcher's mauling of Jeter's shoulder.
God I love baseball. I can see Jeter's underhand shovel pass to Posada and Fisk waving the ball fair right now as I type.

God I love baseball.
It's the sport of liberals.
Andy, do you remember Yaz's catch of Tresh's line drive that preserved Billy Rohr's no-hit bid that was ended by Elston Howard's two out single in the ninth? Best catch I ever saw. God, I loved bunking school to stay home and watch baseball in those days.
