I haven't posted in a long time but I've been thinking about this hand for about a week now and the more I think about it the more I think I really misplayed it. It has been a week so I can't remember the exact cards so if you can't comment that's fine.
I have been sitting less than 30min so I don't have any reads on playing types.

Limit-2/20, ante-2, bring in-2

3rd street
Seat 2: xx K bring in
Seat 3: xx 4 call
Hero: A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 3 /images/graemlins/heart.gif raise to 20
seat 5: xx Q call
everyone else folded.

4th Street: all bets were in increments of 20
seat 2: xx KK bet_call
seat 3: xx 6 4 call_call
Hero: A 2 3 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif raise
seat 5: xx Q A call

5th street
seat 2: xx KK (catches high) bet
seat 3: xx 6 4 9 call
Hero: A 2 3 4 J call
Seat 5: xx Q A (catches high) call

6th street
seat 2: xx KK xx(high) bet_call
seat 3: xx 6 4 9 9 call_call
Hero: A 2 3 4 J 7 raise
seat 5: xx A Q xx(high) call

River
Seat 2: bet
seat 3: raise
Hero:
Seat 5:

My read was that seat 2 had filled up and I was pretty sure he would reraise. Should I have jammed here to trapp in the two second best for more bets or is it too likely that I might be second best. I was worried about seat 3. He check called all the way then suddenly led out starring right at my 74, it is possible he made a 64 on the river. Also I mght knock out seat 5 isolating my self with a lock for high and a better low. I'm was really not sure what was the correct play. If I raise it is definately imo getting capped.
any other comments would be appreciated, as I am still a bit new to stud 8

It sure seems like the guy with the 6499 board could have a number of hands. He could have a 6, but he could also have a straight or he could be getting out of line with a small full house. It also seems like the guy with KK isnt slowing down so I think you need to call this down. I dont think you need to make any good folds in a pretty decent sized pot. If he made a 6 then so be it. If he had some other hand and you missed a bet or two on the end I wouldnt worry about it. I think it would also be nice to let seat 5 in if he wanted to call also.

Edit: He could also have a worse low and could just be a huge monkey. This is a definite call down the more that I think about it. Call to brind along the 5 seat, and if you are good the guy who has KK might re-raise so you might be saving bets(by not raising yourself) and gaining value(calling his raises) at the same time. I know this makes almost no sense but it is tremendously difficult to convey what I would be thinking on the river. NH

on third I'm not sure I would raise as much as you did since I want lots of callers falling me in. You have a very powerful hand that can turn very weak very quickly, so a smaller bet will lure more people in while keeping your loss at a minimum if you brick. This is highly dependent upon the table of course.

On fourth, I'm worried about the QA folding. He's facing a half pot bet from a strong low or aces, and looking at open kings. You are not loosing much pot equity loss with bare queens coming along so nearly all of the money he puts in goes towards your equity as compared to a fold. If he's a calling station and will draw to anything then I don't mind a raise here. Otherwise, i'd do whatever I can to keep him in. Note that you profit about 0.12 of money from a raise 3way, and profit 0.19 of the raise from a raise 4way.

River:
how can you have a lock for high? You have A high, J kicker. Everyone else is showing a stronger high, and there's no way you can get anyone to fold. The river is judgement call. If seat 3's solid and would only raise with strong low, you might want to fold. I lean towards calling if only because I've seen so many idiots who would cap the river with 87 low.

I meant I would be isolating my self with someone who has a lock high and some one else who might have a better low.
Sorry for the confusion.

Your raise on third was out-of-line. There is about $20 in the pot, and you're raising to $20. This is going to scare people off, and you want people in. I would think a raise to $8 or $10 would be better.

Fourth is definitely a raise. I would consider raising on fifth as well, especially if Fives were live. The raise on sixth is good.

What to do on the river depends entirely on your opponent. If I'm in seat 3, you have an easy lay-down. I can't have a full house. If I had a pair early in the hand I would have folded when the open Kings bet (if I had Aces in the hole I would have raised on third street), and if I were full before the river I would have raised on sixth. I wouldn't raise the river with a rough Seven, so I'd have to have a Six or better. Against me, you can fold.

Unfortunately, most $2-20 players aren't quite as predictable as I am. There are about 10 BB in the pot, and it looks like it will probably cost you 4 BB to call this one down (unless it's a five-bet cap), although it might just be the two (if the Kings three-bet and 4699 just calls, you can probably go ahead and four-bet). So you're risking four bets to win nine, a little more than 2:1 pot odds. Between the possibility that he has a full house or is foolishly pushing a worse low, I would guess that against a typical player, you should probably fold, although I think it's close. Against a monkey, I call down.

Where is this game?

Thanks for the input. The guy is a weak player, i just called and took half the pot. There was no other reraise.

The game is at the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City MO.
David Skalansky and TJ Cloutier are going to be ther this weekend for a WPT event.
