SB is tag and solid. About 25/18/2.9. UTG is a big lag preflop but quite weak and passive postflop. Button is a lag preflop and postflop.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif. MP posts a blind of $10.
UTG raises, MP (poster) calls, Button calls, SB calls, Hero calls.

SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, MP checks, Button bets, SB raises, Hero 3-bets...
I see the rationale, as SB probably has a T or pocket pair that he's capable of folding and button (most of the time) has nothing or a pair that he can fold.
I would never think to do this, but I guess it could be correct.

Lol. I did think about that post for a few seconds before acting. That's why I'm posting it to see if I broke my vow.
I think this move has terrible risk/reward ratio.
You'll need to fire more if somebody has KJ, etc

How often do you think it works? All I need is around 20%.
Yes but you could do this FPS when your hand is not a trash like this (like if you had A9 in this hand). Your only chance here is to win uncontested.

A9 will have to play this nearly the same way. Only way he wins at a showdown is vs. SB's KJ that he can check through the river with position.
I just wanted to say that I'd prefer a hand that has outs against a T. (3 outer pair + runner-runner straight in my example)

I don't think many people play a Q this way, and I think everybody thinks the same, so I don't think anyone folds a made hand here. You're going to have to hope they're drawing and that they don't hit their draw or any pair, and bet every street. Yuck.

Yeah, you're getting called down by any T here and probably even the AJ that takes two off looking for a gutshot and blanks out. Of course, you have outs against him.

Okay. Well, it worked, they both folded, but no one seems to like it. This isn't the kind of thing I ever do but it seemed so clear to me that SB had a T or PP (with a PP being much much more likely) that I decided I had the odds since Button would usually have nothing.
Actually it still makes sense to me, even though some posters I respect are disagreeing with me. I think it would probably work like 1/3 of the time and I only need 1/5. Hmm..
