View Full Version : 11,000 hand break even streak - Bad Luck or Bad Play?

My last 11,000 hands at 5/10 6m have been break even (+7BB). I'm including my stats, maybe you guys will pick up on something. Thank god I ran really good for my first 10,000 hands, or I'd be in serious trouble. I'm really discouraged by this setback, but the last month it's feels like I have to claw my way to even. How often do these sorts of streaks occur at 6m for a 2BB player? Is there anything I can do?

I'm really getting discouraged because of this. This streak started with a 110BB drop that rolled right off my back, but today I dropped a measly 4BB's in 500 hands and I'm feeling burn. I am usually pretty good at walking off bad sessions, but the way it's lasting this long is killing me.

The way the losses just keep racking up makes it really hard to keep my confidence up. Am I running bad or am I playing bad? Please respond to this post with any advice, if any of my stats don't seem right, say something.

11k is too little to worry about.

Your stats are fine.

Why do you LRR? The only time I'd imagine doing it is with a good drawing hand like JTs. I don't like doing it otherwise because it either gives away that I'm holding AA or it has me 3-betting OOP with a hand that I probably don't wanna be 3-betting with.

your stats look fine

Your aggressive on flop, maybe look into that.

Normally play more hands from button than CO.

Sounds like you run real good and are now just evening out.

If you play more than 1 table at a time then these stats are just fine.

So does the same question. 11k breakeven stretch is standard- if you dont want to take my word on it, check the archives. or if that isnt good enough for you either....just continue playing and you will be bound to bump into another one and worse. Brush your shoulder off, goddamson.

Edit: Oh yeah... It's a Cold World, Baby Girl.

rory's post was more about perspective than humor. my point was more about the repetitive nature of the question, getting a repetitive answer. secondarily, you should expect downswings and breakeven runs... because well they are commonplace and a characteristic of the game of poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

yea. you can

1) stop posting stat posts because they mean nothing.

2) post some hands that you think you really messed up

3) make a pre flop quiz to post in this forum and see where you can add some more hands, or if you're 3betting well, limping enough hands after an utg limp, iso raising enough etc etc. or make a flop quiz on what different flop textures you play certain ways against passives, overly aggressives, or whoever you have trouble playing against

4) post your screenname and ask people to pm, or post hands that they think you've donked pretty badly

5) move down to less tables so you can get some fundamentals in
