View Full Version : Good calldown?

My WTSD lately has always been around or just below 30, and I feel like this is a major flaw in my game.

Villian is total unknown who just sat down

I bet the turn with fold equity plus seven "clean" outs (though I'd fold to a raise, which would only give me four clean outs) Plus my three ten outs might be good with only a call on the flop by MP2.

Is this a spot to make a river calldown?

Since there's no real draws on the flop, I'm gonna give an unknown villain credit for a pair. And the pot is small. I'd fold.

Do you think your Ace high is good 1 in 8 times?

He called all the way down on a drawless board, this usually means some kind of pair. I fold this without too much thought, unless you have some read on him as a habitual bluffer.

The one available draw on the flop has at least a pair at this point. If you call, you're kind of hoping MP2 was chasing with A9-A6 or KQ or KT or something.

Which isn't out of the question, but I doubt you're good often enough here.
