#2 Too timid on L4? I think this was a terrible fold.

#6 Had made two ante steals pushing over the last two orbit. BB was very tight. Thought I'd mix it up a little with a small raise. Quit on it after the call/flop. I am least confident in this play.

#7 I felt min-raise was good enough here as SB is tight and BB will be trying to make ITM. I am trying to ITM myself so with other big stack behind me, didn't want to push ATo. Now I look at this and think a) min-raise always sucks, b) BB is actually MORE likely to move in on me here now that I min-raised than had I pushed.

Hand 1: I can hear you now as you push all in for like 5x the pot. "Please have AQ. PLEASE HAVE AQ!!!"

Hand 2: What's weak about it? You have 16BB and a marginal hand. Calling wouldn't be terrible since you have the button, but I won't fault you folding.

Hand 3: Minraising with a crappy hand when you have 8BB sucks. Plain and simple.

Hand 4: It depends. On the opponent. Readless, I think it's close.

Hand 5: I raise to 400 or so. I may or may not call a reraise.

Hand 6: If BB is tight, I like the PF raise. I might even push the flop with my gutshot unless I think there's a chance he's sophisticated enough to trap.

Hand 7: I hate minraising. Honestly, what's the purpose of minraising? What happens when he comes over the top with a meh hand? Whoops, he has a good portion of your chips. Just push.

Hand 8: If you honestly think a minraise has as much FE as a push, then fine. I wasn't there so I honestly can't help you past that.

Here are my thoughts.

#1 - I bet less on the flop here. Say to 200 or so. Why the push?

#2 - I fold here too.

#3 - Not a big fan of the preflop raise. If you are going to play A6 you want the others out. Minraising gives the BB no reason to fold. That said, I would fold preflop.

#4 - I wouldn't push there unless you had a read on the guy as being a very loose raiser. Fold.

#5 - If the game is tight, I raise to 400 here and fold to a push. If there's been a lot of action, I just fold preflop.

#6 - If you've been raising/pushing a lot lately this is a good spot to just fold to show that you are capable of that move too.

#7 - Just push.

#8 - I'm sure it is a leak of mine, but I basically push or fold here depending on my mood. I would love to hear what other's think about the minraise and the fact that I'm a push/fold guy in this spot.

#1 I hate the push...you are likely ahead but will only be called by someone who has you beat. The risk/reward does not add up for me.

#2 I don't know...depends on how things are going. With more limpers I call for sure but I probably fold too.

#3 Not bad push. He probably has top pair with a low kicker which he wont want to call with.

#4 Depends on your read of the player. A raise like that seems to be begging for a call or a reraise.

#5 I would have pushed this and taken down the blinds.

#6 I hate this play with these crappy cards. You don't have to push every time but make a bigger raise so that the BB can't just call with almost any two.

#7 Don't be cute...I personally don't want to invite a call or a reraise with AT. Just take the blinds and be happy. The other big stack is thinking about the bubble too...he will probably only call you with maybe 4 or 5 hands.

#8 You are just asking to be called or jammed. I would either fold or raise much more or push. Honestly...probably fold given the stack sizes and blinds. Depending on how tight the BB is I might even just call here and play the flop.

A push here is enormous +EV. I would think raising then folding to a reraise would be less positive. You have to push at these blinds.

Im only going to comment about hands 7 and 8. I think the other posters coverd the rest.

Go ahead and remove the word "min-raise" out of your vocabulary at this level with the exceptions of:
A. You have pocket aces or kings late in the game with large blinds
B. You are changing your game when blinds are larger. When you can afford it(>10xbb) and have a marginal hand (KJ) try min raising from a late position to see if the table is stupid enough to fold, if not I wouldnt try this play again.

#7 is a clear fold/push. If you think sb, and bb are being tight right now easy push.

so min-raise here not as bad

[/ QUOTE ]

A min raise here is almost always bad.

#8 Your asking bb to suck out on you with his 45 off suit, by giving him correct 3:1 odds to call although I doubt he would realize this. Push/fold decision again because I dont think you can play post-flop.

I disagree with the sentiment that the minraise is always bad. OP specifically stated that BB was folding everything but premium hands preflop. I will take his word on it. I'm expecting BB to fold even getting 3:1 because he's playing too tight.
