definately not. you gotta go for it. ESPECIALLY if you are in anything bigger than a ford escape.

This was funny the first couple times the joke was made. Now it's about as worn out as Steve telling us where he takes it.

I have no concept of 100 ft. If i think i can make it halfway through the intersection before it goes red then i gun it. I used to be more conservative about this, but when in Rome....

Is there a car behind me?

100+ feet seems reasonable enough to stop, but if I've got some idiot up my ass I may hit the gas just to avoid being rear-ended.

There is a curious lack of traffic signals in Italy. Where they have them, they are, for the most part, only a suggestion.

SOLID YELLOW- A yellow signal light means “CAUTION.” The red signal is about to appear. When you see the yellow light, stop if you can do so safely. If you can’t stop safely, enter the intersection cautiously.

How about we all start following the same [censored] traffic rules so I don't have to [censored] guess how the [censored] every other fucker is going to drive? Is that so [censored] hard? Jesus [censored] Christ.

STOP IF IT'S SAFE TO DO SO.

My daughter and I thank you.

Depends on traffic and my speed. I usually gun it though.

In New Jersey, it is against the law to run a yellow light unless you are so far into the intersection that stopping would be dangerous. It is generally assumed that being within 50 feet of the intersection will allow you to keep going.

Yes I have been in a courtroom and seen people ticketed for running a yellow light. I had no idea until I saw it myself.

u forgot to mention that when driving in jersey, the #1 way to get rearended is to stop for a yellow.

I know that my brother has received a ticket for doing this in California and I have heard of it happening in Mass as well.

To the OP, it depends on what the speed limit is, what time of day/night it is, but more often than not my answer is gun it.

You see something on the sidewalk. Do you pick it up?

I voted stop, but in retrospect, 100 ft is not very long at all, so I would most likely go through.

Sorry Steve, but this is a terrible poll. Too many variables.

If I feel I can stop comfortably given all the variables I stop... if not I continue. I rarely accelerate and if I do it wouldn't be much.

If you need to gun it to beat the light then you should be stopping.

did you steal that off of a t-shirt?

I got a ticket for "running a red light" because I'd gunned it at a yellow, which is orange in actuality. I tried to fight it in court, claiming that I had passed the intersection before the light turned red but it wasn't enough for the court and had to pay a total fine of $130. So now I always slow down.
