Since Aug. 5h it's been uhhh...a CRAZY run. It's what you get for playing loose-aggressive short handed.

The whole month combined looks much more reasonable:

are you trying to tell me that short handed games against aggressive (some good) players are high variance? unless 500 other 2+2ers confirm this, i refuse to believe it!

I posted a 13K graph like this in the 6max graph thread and one of the posters told me I wasn't a winner at 6max because my variance was so high. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

NH on the first 11K hands tho.

Well then BK clearly sucks. His variance means he can't be a winning player. What a fish.

No 200+ BB downswing in 25K hands? I just had one, I hope they're rare.

#1 the poster shouldnt say something like that after 13k hands

#2 the games BK plays in (2000/4000 at last check) have more variace in them anyways, so comparing his STD to yours (or mine) doesnt mean much.

OK I'm probably just embarassing myself, but is there really a 2000/4000 game online somewhere? I didn't think it got bigger than 300/600.

Did you want to kill yourself during that 30K, 400BB downswing?

sammy_g

I'm always surprised when someone posts their 5/10 and 10/20 win rates and they're always pretty close.

I have 100k hands at 5/10 and 45k hands at 10/20, and there is a 3BB/100 disparity in my win rates between these limits.

[censored] variance.

Edit: Man, that is one brutal downswing, Victor.

that downswing started when i tried to move up to 10-20 and got crushed. then i moved back to 5-10 and got crushed.

cool to see those graphs. i consider you in my area of skill (albeit better then me) and always value what you have to say. its nice to see somebody i look up to is in the same neighborhood of my my win rates (my sample sizes are smaller though) at various levels.

Interesting. During my next 15K breakeven/losing streak, I'll think of you and say "At least it's not as bad as victor."
