MP3 is a maniac, preflop raise of 30%, will fold if he has nothing, but raises postflop if he has any sort of hand at all.

Cap the turn.

i think i like it. the flush isn't really a concern and there arent really any straight draws to worry about. It sounds like our maniac friend is just as likely to have AA as AT, so, especially with a third player i'm convinced we have beat, i dont mind pumping this up a bit.

hi

i'd cap the turn...and see what happens on the river.

Yeah, I see that capping the turn was the right move. I'm not sure why I didn't do it, seems to be no reason not to. I'm not at all concerned about anyone having pocket aces here.

Grunch.

I would cap the turn and maybe slow down on the river.

Check/raise the flop. Cap every street from there on.

Why the check raise here shillix? i figured this was standard betting out situation. anyway cap turn and probably cap river but i like to gamble.

If you're sure the maniac will bet, a check raise might get you a few bets from the other players to the maniac's left who might call one bet. On the other hand, since you bet out and were raised immediately they decided to fold their hands. So you might have been able to trap a few more players. At least that's how I approach it.

I think you did rather poorly considering your read. You could have done better by capping the turn and river. The only hand your losing to is AA. Absent that read, I would have just said you could have done better.

This is much better given your relative position to the maniac preflop bettor.
