This early with that raise I would just call. I know a lot more and can learn a lot more at that point.

I also call and hope nobody raises. Then I hope I hit a set. If not I hope for no AKQ on the flop. A lotta hoping going on when I play JJ.

Dammit. Crappy position, UTG raise, but it's L1...

The raise is more than a tenth of my stack, man..

It's an $11, so my opponents do suck.

I think I fold too, but I don't know if it's correct.

I call and hope to hit a set - at this buy-in, I figure that I can lose the bet and still come back. But I don't think folding is terrible, either.

this is my standard line here, btw. there seems to be a split decision. any other thoughts?

I call here looking for the set. AKQ comes on the flop, it's an easy laydown. The problem arises when you flop an overpair.

Say our hero calls the 90, no other callers and the flop comes out T62 rainbow. Villain bets out for just over half the pot -- what's our play?

In that situation, I've tended to raise double his bet and see if he'll go away -- if he comes over the top, I give him credit for QQ-AA. If he calls, I still consider QQ-AA possibilites, but start to think it's more likely he's on AK or that he made a donk PFRaise.

What do you guys think...or is this uncertainty why it's better to just fold pre-flop? I dunno.

I wouldn't give credit to the villain if he is aggressive on the undercard flop for QQ-AA at a 11. AK, AQ, even AJ are possibilities.
