I've been thinking a lot about this scenario lately. A loose but semi-decent button raises, and your SB folds. You're left with A4s, so you call.
Two flops.
1) K73 rainbow, none of your suit.
2) T97 2 clubs, one of your suit.
Whats your plan for both? Does the type of board change your decision? Should we be committed to a showdown? (Suppose the villian is a 40/15 if that helps).
Next scenario, suppose we have the same hand, A4s, this time in the CO. All folded to us, we raise, the same villian calls from the BB.
Same flops as before. What factors need to be considered? Is it standard to bet? When do you take the free card? Are we more likely to take the free card on the drawy flop? When should we give up? What type of villian changes the scenario?
Its a tricky concept I'm having trouble with, any thoughts would be well appreciated.
