AK problems

I never know if I'm playing AK correct after I miss the flop. I'm looking for comments on the following hand. Early in a $11 PP game. No reads at this point. Raise before the flop. Miss flop. Continuation bet. Get called. Miss the turn. What next???

This is how I play this, and I think it's right...

In HOH, Dan says that if you make the continuation bet and its called, you then check the turn, and can check, call, or fold on river depending.

What is more interesting about AK is how to play in with two or three callers preflop. With that exact flop I usually bet if it it checked to me in late position, and i'm almost positive that's a leak.

You played this hand just right early in the tournament. If your bet is called on the flop you can save yourself alot of trouble by checking down unless you improve.

That flop hits too many hands. Not much you can do but take a stab at it.

Thanks for the replies. I just always wonder if I can win the pot if I make a bet on the turn there, but since I was called on the flop, I probably do not have the best hand at this point, so I think taking the free card is correct.

it's just too likely that your opponent hit this board for a flop bet to take it down. i used to do this too much and it is a complete chip sprew. 3 connected cards in the playing zone is not a good flop to bluff. you have position, you have a gutshot and an ace might give you the best hand. take your free turn unless you reconize the player as being extremely tight.
this is a 10+1, he'll call you with 77 and then you'll puke.

your reasoning is sound, but i disagree in this particular case. since this is a 10+1, he could have called preflop with any two suited cards, or a smaller pair he may fold to a board with 3 overs, or he could have called with any two. heads up, with position, small pot - you've got to take a shot at winning that pot here.
