his most obvious hand is 99, but I dont think he has that or you wouldn't have posted this.

I think you overplayed the river

I was deciding between bet/call and bet/3bet.

Oh and check/raise

yeha I just dont think he raises the river with anything except 99 if you guys are playing serious, not after all that turn action.

I'd bet-3 bet the flop, don't want to check raise him and knock out UTG. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you have 77, I would expect him to have 99 but it looks like you won so I guess he has an overplayed AA.

I think he plays 66, T8s, and possibly AA with the same line right?

BTW, UTG was an incredibly weak player. Folded when he should call, called when he should fold, hardly ever raised.

I think three bets going in here is a bad thing for your hand. bet/call is good I think.

Right, 66...

I wouldn't expect him to play T8s after a limper, and he might 3-bet the flop with that.

Hmm so B/3B is better to keep in the limper? For some reason when I saw this flop I wanted him out. That's probably monsters under the bed.

Yeah, Willluck is pretty tight, he would possibly raise T8s on the button there, but it's not as likely as 66, 99, or AA for sure. I guess I overplayed a little bit. Oh well.

I don't think he should be raising the river with T8s or AA. I will admit I didn't think of 66, which could call your flop raise becase the board is SO drawy.

I had the set of 9s.

I was curious about my flop play, because this is totally standard for me, but zeus said I should have 3-bet it.

I suppose I could mix it up and do like 80% wait till the turn and 20% 3-bet the flop.

What do you guy's think?

After what Wheelz said about my play, I think calling is just fine, possibly better. But if I raise to try to knock out UTG, I think it makes it clear that I have a hand that I like, a lot. I don't know.

I usually just flat call the flop and raise the turn. The flop CR is usually a one-two punch, so you have a great chance of getting two bets in on the turn.

if UTG stayed in I think three betting is the better play, if HU I like mixing it up with a slight preference for waiting to raise the turn

You have 77 (duh), he has 99. You both messed up the flop and you overplayed the river.

Right, I probably should have just called.

At least I didn't have jack high though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, if you face him with two cold he'll likely get out of the way without a hand. If you bet, he may decide to peel for one bet with his overcards or whatever, then the button raises and you 3-bet, now he might decide the pot's too big and call two more as well...

[/ QUOTE ]

Any hand you want out on this flop is calling 2 cold anyways
