Could I tell if I am a winning player after 2000 hands ? So far I have lost about $75 in .50/1 limit omaha hi.

Multiply that by 10, and you'll maybe have an answer, but not conclusive. Omaha Hi blows because the variance is quite large, even by Hold 'Em standards. This is the reason most serious players have fled to pot-limit and 8-or-better.

wow. 20,000 ? I didn't know it was that high. Hmmm.... you'd have to play like 8 tables at a time to really find a quick answer to whether you are a winner.

That game is high variance but VERY soft, so don't worry about it. You'd need 10~20k hands to make any justification of being a winning player and probably around 200k hands to see how much you're killing it.
