What's your read on husker76? If this is towards the end of the 25/50 round and he is looking to catch blind stealers he may be making this move with any PP or hands as poor as Ax or KQ. I call here without a rock-solid read on husker since you yourself are starting to hurt for chips, first raiser is only moderately likely to call, and you are coinflipping or better with possible dead chips in the pot to any hand except AA or KK.

I have been thinking about how to play AK a lot and I think that laying it down may be correct (although I have not been able to apply yet /images/graemlins/shocked.gif. I say this b/c I think I lose more than half the time I am all-in pf w/ AK. What hands do people go all in with pf... pocket pairs, AK, AQ, AJ Axs (really bad players). So you're an underdog more than half the time, therefore, -EV, right?

It depends if you want to gamble or not in this spot. There have been a lot of 'AK all in early level' posts recently. I think you could gain a lot of insight by reading those (with your crappy post filter on).
