Quick Question... Playing short handed does the hand ranking change?... meaning does pocket 10's moves up into group 1 ranking?... is there a new grouping for short handed?/if so what is it?...
thanks...

yes hand values change. youre not going to find a list for it though. you'll need to think about it yourself. heres a hint.

shorthanded fewer people are dealt cards, fewer "good" hands get dealt, fewer people see flops. therefore pots are usually won by weaker hands. pairs are worth more, drawing hands worth less, since you arent often getting pot odds needed for them.

Here's an article by "Abdul Jalib" about short handed play. (http://www.liveactionpoker.com/articles/abdul-shorthanded/abdul-shorthanded.html)

He's talking about live play, but much of what he says applies to online play as well.

Carson's book has s/h charts. No "Group 1", however.

Here's a 6 max link with a starting hand chart in it. Lot's of good info.

The hand chart is in the Preflop strategy link in his post. Good luck.
