Heading off to A.C. next weekend, and i'm moving to a larger limit than I'm used to (thanks to the advice from 2+2 folks), possibly going to 10/20. Anyone play in this game regularly? What can I expect on a typical evening? Is it going to be as soft as the 4/8 and the 7.5/15? I have really only played up to these limits, and thus far have found the games very beatable. All advice is welcome advice. Thanks.

The softer 10-20 games seem to be at the Taj. Once the limits get above the pink chip game, the Trop seems to have a lot more regulars and a lot less fish, IMHO.

Is this for stud or hold-em?

Sorry for not making this clear. I'm used to hanging out in the hold'em forum. This is for Hold'em. Thanks.

The 10-20 there is rare....

The usually play 10-20-30.

For mid limits, I suggest you play the Taj Mahal. On Weekends, there will be many 10-20 and 15-30 games to choose from where as this is NOT the case at Trop. The games are very loose and often quite aggressive so put on your seatbelt. The games are not as soft as the low limits but are very loose and often lots of chips get splashed around..typically as you move up bad players play trickier/tougher postflop than at lower limits. 10-20 and 5-10 at Taj play very similar. 15-30 can be tougher, but it's all relative. If you got the money and the skills, the games will be ultimately beatable but anything can happen on one night. Weekend games are very good at Taj lately. Play hard, good luck.

Thank you all for the comments. I'm glad I posted; now I know I'm headed for the Taj. Later.

I have played 10/20 often at the Trop and have found the games easier than 5/10. Many more attempts to steal and lots more bluffing some of that might be due to the fact that Im a young woman and men tend to show me less respect think that Ill scare easy. Be wary though, if there is no 15/30 going on 10/20 will have the sharks. In any event you should enjoy and the rake hurts a lot less.

So how was 10-20 at the Taj for you?

Hello all, and thanks for asking.
Well, I got there around 7:30, at that time the table was tight, I was nervous, and I lost about 80 bucks over 4 hours. Basically, the game was tough and I considered moving down to 5/10.
All of the sudden, around 11:00, the place got packed, and the opponents became choice.
From 11 to 2, I brought down about 650 bucks.
I know it's just one night, but I'm pleased with the results, and the competition, and I will be back there soon. I believe I have found my new limt - for now.
It's amazing what starting hands people begin to play once it gets a little late. Thanks again for all the advice - you guys are cool.

Not bad at all....even being down $80 is nothing, dont forget you were paying $10 an hour time, so you were really just down 2 BB in 4 hours.......Dont worry bouttit /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
