But seriously, White Clam pizza, preferably with bacon and you're ready to roll!

they have one at california pizza kicthen. my gf is from new york and apparently it's popular there.

A combination of Mozzarella, Fontina, Ricotta, Parmesan and
Pecorino Romano cheeses with fresh sautéed spinach and garlic. With applewood smoked bacon.

i believe the big points are white cheese, no tomato sauce.

yep. You can get them with clams as well. I got a medium, thin crust, with onions. Forgot about the bacon /images/graemlins/mad.gif

White Pizza typically has no (or very, very little) Sauce, just cheese and seasoning like garlic.

Is it soy cheese? How about that butter used for the white sauce?

Try one anyway, I didn't like the sound of it either but it's really good.

REAL white pizza, as you would get it in NYC has Ricotta cheese instead of sauce, usually nothing else other than the usual seasonings.

I'm a stickler about tomato sauce, so when my friends drag me to a shitty pizzaria that has garbage sauce, the white pizza is a godsend.

I didn't actually get them with clams. I've never seen a delivery place do that either...

So, it was simple, and good. Some oil, garlic, cheeses, thin crust style. I wouldn't get it next time just because it gets a little boring after a while, but every couple months or so it's definitely a nice change...

Mulberry Street Pizza in Beverly Hills, of all places, makes a killer white pizza. If you have the means.

Yep. Unfortunately, almost every take-out pizza I order has little or no tomato sauce anymore. It sucks quite greatly.
