make it about 225 to go preflop

I liked the 125 pf. Did what I needed, as it narrowed down the field to me and another person. I want to know what you think of the push.
_Jess
The push is horrible Jess, b/c you are only going to be called by a hand that has you beat, and the pot is not that large to justify a push. Even though you have AA, your hand shrivled up to 72o the minute that flop hit.
Though I have never personally done it, I dont think checking is a bad play here for a flop of that texture. I think that even if you make a continuation bet of 125-150, top pair + draws are still gonna call you, you become more pot committed, have a tough turn decision and a lot of cards that are gonna scare you $hitless.
Remember, you can always steal that amount later for ALOT less risk at Level 4/5.

Raise more preflop. There's t120 in minraises, plus t45, and you're only reraising back to t125? I would have made it t160 at least.
Once you're on the flop, that's a real scary board, but there is quite a bit of money in the middle.
The push is interesting. It's an overbet, but people have a lot of outs on this board. I think it might work, considering a queen will call here.

I don't play at the $55 level but I like the push. Your villian will fold a lot of hands here I think.

A queen without a draw is not gonna call here often enough at the 55s to make this profitible.

Typical 55 player with AQ/KQ folds? (Assuming they didn't fold PF)

i agree. i raise more pf and play it from there. pushing that flop isnt my idea of a great play. holla

Bad push. Bet 2/3 pot, and the rest is read-dependent (i.e. do you call if he pushes, blah)
I'm with the raise more preflop gang

you are only going to be called by a hand that has you beat

If you want to pursue interest in this pot, you could try to bet 2/3rd of the pot
- if somebody push, they might be on a draw, but this early in the tournament you can still fold happily. They might also have a better made hand
- if somebody calls, check the turn. In my experience a flush draw will always check here, and you will now know what you're up against, if the flush comes, check fold, if not, check call to give him a chance to bluff.
That's my line anyway, other possibility: a check raise on the flop also, and if you get a free turn, bet 2/3rd of the pot and all the flush draws will get an horrible price, you will usually pick it right here
Either way your push was -EV. A lot. Basically an all-in bluff level 1...

Without the Ace of hearts, this is about as bad a flop as you can get. You still have well over 1000 chips at this point. There is no poker law that says you must play your AA to the river.
