I don't get why teams are kicking fieldgoals from the 2 yrd line- essentially extra points that kickers make 98% of during the year- seems like it could be better spent practicing fourth and goal situations that actually could swing a game or two during the regular season.
I am starting to feel the same way about 2 point conversions as well.

you want as much special teams practice as possible. it's not just about the kicker.

Also, you generally don't want to tip your hand at all in regards to 'go to' plays in goaline situations and 2pt conversions. So you would be practicing plays that you wouldn't use anyway.
