Anyone care to give reasoning on his part? I know I bet small but if he has a 9 I'm going broke anyways, so might as well try to get in the most chips as possible if I'm ahead.

Is this a 2+2'er? He was on two of my $22 tables... don't know what's more sad, this play by him or me being busted out by him in two sngs (He limps with AA and calls pushes with Q-10o /images/graemlins/frown.gif )

i doubt he's a 2+2 member making that play on that flop.

I play all of my gutshots this way.

Doesn't everyone?

yeah, the ones who loss money trying to draw to 4-outers or less on the river. i run into them on a regular basis. it becomes even worse when you find out you're up against a hand like A /images/graemlins/spade.gifx /images/graemlins/spade.gif., especially A /images/graemlins/spade.gif9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif.
the 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif does'nt help you so you have three.

Look at your own play first--I think you botched this hand.

I admit I didn't raise enough, but really on the flop if he has a 9 I'm going broke. And obviously if this guy is going to go broke with 7-high after the turn I'm pretty sure the pf raise would have done nothing.

precisely, which why anyone who always play their gutshots this way are certainly donate-prone.

I know what's going on in his head (I play 5 +.5, so this guy's a genius to me /images/graemlins/wink.gif ).

He thought the following:

Flop:
The board's paired, so he can't possibly have a hand, so why would I fold.

Turn:
I have a straight draw... he has nothing. I WIN!

River:
I knew he had AA!

Glad he didn't catch /images/graemlins/smile.gif. Nh.
